Classes begin this week!!

Hello my friends!
Art Journaling classes for adults begin this Saturday! For ages 13-18 they begin Thursday! I am so excited to get going! I teach at the Silver Springs Recreation Center. Sign up!! This is what I am teaching this round:

• Art Journaling

• Each session we will focus on a different aspect. Includes drawing faces and lettering. We will practice using watercolors and acrylics with a few surprises for faces and then all different tools for lettering. A super fun class! We will work on backgrounds and stencil work. Then onto bodies and techniques to add more to your pages without having to draw! We will also go into abstract art and how to come up with ideas when you feel empty. Finally, we will do a collage work, including backgrounds, borders and lettering to match your project.  

• Fused Glass Jewelry
  
• We will make several pendants and learn about glass and fusing and then we will turn our pendants into beautiful art jewelry pieces. There is so much to learn in the fusing world and so many techniques...the possibilities are endless!

• Soldered Jewelry Pendants

• This is a class that uses collage work and solder to assemble pendants to transform into unique and beautiful jewelry pieces. I love hand soldered items!!

• Interest in Pinterest
  
• Who doesn't spend hours on Pinterest drooling over the cute ideas and wishing we could make them? Well, here's your chance! We will turn to Pinterest for ideas and put them to the test! Join us for the fun of crafting and giving or having those adorable ideas!

These classes run from September through December, so we have lots of time and lots to learn!! Join the fun!!

Next Class Starts October 8th!!

 I LOVE doing these pictures! They are so fun and ANYONE can do it! It is such a fun form of self expression!

It's a great way to visually record your life and your thoughts!

My glass classes are filling fast! I will get some pictures of that too! Next soldering class we will be soldering some beautiful china pieces I found at an estate sale. I didn't know how valuable these china plates were until I broke them and THEN I looked them up. Oops! But I definitely recognized their beauty!

Glass fusing is continuing on! We will be playing with carving glass in a clay form and kiln firing it. Plus we will be writing on our pieces and using more inclusion! This is sooo much fun! How I wish you were all here to open the surprise of the kiln after I fire! But it is fun to see your faces when I turn your beautiful creations back over to their owners. That is priceless!

More journaling!

 I have this little art journal I carry with me when I travel. I have water colored some but they are mostly pencil drawings because that is easy for me to use and carry. Here are just a few that are 'in process'.

I draw falling girls alot. Maybe it is subliminal from being squished onto an airplane and miles high...

 I am always in the mood for a fairy or two!

 

 Here is my zombie contribution! It didn't start out that way, but sometimes the picture just takes over.

Okay, more falling girls. Maybe it is simply me. I love the feeling of free fall and yet. at the same time it scares me to death. I will leave it for you to analyze. I just love the free flowing curves in the body so they are super fun for me to draw!!

So fun and fulfilling! You can do it, anyone can! No drawing necessary...it's all optional in art journaling, That's why I love it so much. It's a visual journal of you!!

Creative Sewing and Art Journaling classes start in April!

New work...getting ready for class! Come play with color and get dirty! Super fun and no talent or experience needed! You can journal and feel successful. Its better than coloring...its yours! If painting isn't for you, come  join a creative sewing class. No matter which you choose, we are in for a fun time! Look for them at Henderson Parks and Recreation in the Siver Springs Rec Center. Classes start in April!

New Henderson Parks and Rec classes....

Classes start in April! I will be teaching Art Journaling and two creative sewing classes. One will be making old clothes look fresh by using applique and free motion stitching. The other we will be making a super cute table runner for each season using applique and simple sewing. All classes are fun and no experience needed...including the art journaling. All techniques are easy and fun AND therapeutic!!! Join in the fun!

Art journaling is so fun and you don't have to be an artist to do it!! CLASSES START IN APRIL! Go to Henderson Parks an Recreation to sign up. I will teach you so many fun and easy techniques, and send you home with fun ideas and the tools to do it. I will be at the Silver Springs Center. There is a class for adults and one for youth ages 13 to 18. Make your journal colrful. I can't wait to see you there!

You don't have to paint faces or know how to draw to do ART JOURNALING. You just have to want to have fun. I will be posting a supply list, just a few things you will need to pick up before class, and each week I will send you home with fun stuff to play with on your own. Come join the fun!!
