A day on the torch. So interesting and fun! The possibilities with enameling are endless. I get so absorbed the day is over before I realize it and my husband is asking for dinner from the other room! Good thing he's good at making peanut butter sandwiches! 😜

Especially when this is the reward at the end of the day!

Kiln Fired!

The kiln has been fired and this is the result:

I tried to grab a quick photo to show you how fabulously they reflect the light. it's truly beautiful! These are fun. The two on the bottom of the last picture didn't work as far as the the firing, but they're still cool. I can make an endless variety of designs which keeps me from getting bored! Yes, I have a bit of artist ADD. And I love to keep learning, so I probably won'stick to this forever. But I am having a blast for now.
I have another load I fired to show you....next post!
All in fun!

New Stuff

Hi My Friends!
It has been a crazy couple of months but I am back and very excited about my work! I have been teaching fused glass and sometimes I get in a rut doing the same things over again. For awhile now I have been wanting to get back to my glass painting. I used to paint panels and since we have moved I have not had my large kiln connected so I have been concentrating on simpler pieces and teaching. But I have been yearning to paint. So ...hooray! I am painting small jewelry pieces. It can be very time consuming painting on small surfaces, but I have learned a few tricks to help. Here are the ones going into the kiln tonight:

The ones below I just took out of the kiln. The colors are so brilliant and beautiful. These were so much fun to make and I used different techniques to see what I liked best and I actually liked them all!

I am so excited to open my kiln in the morning!! It's better than Christmas!!
If you are interested in purchasing any of these pendants you can email me at WildWalrusStudio@gmail.com.
They will run right around $25. It takes me 2+ hours to complete the painting and then firing takes 12 hours or more. It's a lot of time and patience, but so gratifying and BEAUTIFUL!
I will post the new pendants as soon as they are cooked!

Necklace Sets

A modern look to a vintage idea by using enameled flowers.
I love to add a personalized message to my pieces. I made these for my girls and they loved them.

Each floral set has a tag with a s'graffito message.

The necklaces have hand dyed silk ribbon which makes the length adjustable.

Glass headpins are quick and easy to make and add a splash of color. It's pretty fun to see the different flowers tgat emerge. The ones above look lacy. Each piece has a touch of whimsy, which is what I love!
I also love sharing these with you!

I can be contacted at WildWalrusStudio@gmail.com.
I sell the enamels, the metal pieces, torches, and more. I will be happy to send you a list of enamel colors and prices. Soon I will have the metal pieces I use available in my Etsy shop.
